Guests have access to the full apartment. The keys to the apartment are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.
Free on street parking is available along the whole of the street and no permit is required.
The property lacks some basics: No kitchen knives in the kitchen, a washing up bowl would also be good.
The bedroom lacks a wardrobe or chest of drawers, the hanging rail provided doesn't really fit the bill.
The living room needs a rethink, there are no side tables and only one sofa, the other two chairs are not really suited for evening sitting.
There is no carbon monoxide detector in the property even though there is a gas boiler (located in the main bedroom).
There is only one smoke detector in the property, it is located in the hall which for the property is the wrong location.
The wiring installation is elderly, whilst it does have a valid test label from Mar 2022, the consumer unit is missing the MCB cover which should fail the unit and the unit is not metal construction fireproof and it should be when located in a living area under the stairs.
The door to the communal hallway is not a fire door and has no fire/smoke seals, it also has no fire rated closing device.
The outer door to the street does not self close or self lock and is frequently left unlocked by other occupants.;
The flat is VERY noisy from the flat upstairs, doors slamming, people stamping around, shouting etc
The flat is advertised as parking available, yep, good luck with that, it is very difficult to park in Ruby street.
location was perfect
nice size rooms
fridge in kitchen fitted poorly
light switch in bathroom kept getting trapped in the door due to position of it.
There needs to be a knife and chopping board.
The location is perfect, between the beach and town. The apartment was spotless and very comfortable.
No Netflix as advertised and not able to access bins outside due to rusty gate lock
Very clean apartment, nicely furnished and nice touches like coffee machine and hair dryer.
Didn't feel 100% secure with just the one lock on front door. No bin outside so pile of rubbish bags from previous guests. No recycling bins for cardboard, plastic, etc.
The location is great. Walking distance to the town centre and sea front.
The size of the property is a lot bigger than expected.
The kitchen is well equipped.
The welcome brochure (downloaded before arrival) was good and gave lots of info
The smell! Disgusting! Especially in the back single bedroom. To the point where we wouldnt let our daughter sleep in the room! We even bought fabreeze during our stay.
Cleaning ok, not great. Clumps of hair in the carpet and cereal remains stuck to every bowl in the cupboard.
No curtains in the bedrooms, only blinds. Very light on a morning.
Minor negative is that the bed was a basic double. For the size of the room (huge!) I would expect a bigger bed
Inside we were pleasantly surprised with the facilities and decor of the property. Very clean and comfortable. Outside a job in progress. Good location.
There were no windows that opened throughout the property so bedrooms very stuffy at night. The “back garden” was a shambles and unable to open the back gate. Needed a coffee table when watching TV. The front entrance had not been cleaned for a long time. ie window sills and step. It was not until the last message from you, before leaving home, that we found out parking was first come basis. At our age dedicated parking is a must and had we known earlier would have changed the property.
The apartment was beautifully furnished, spacious and clean. The additional touches, milk, tea, coffee etc., breakfast items, dishwasher tablets and cleaning products made this lovely flat a real home from home. We would happily stay here again. The location and apartment made for an idyllic couple of nights away in a beautiful area.
There wasn’t anything we didn’t like.
beds very comfortable, location was perfect, extremely clean.
no full length mirrors, and the ones that wore there wore to heigh to see through. not enough seating in the living area for us all to sit comfortably. the blinds in the bed room didn’t block out the light so was woken up very early.
The apartment itself is very clean, very nicely decorated, and feels spacious throughout. There were quite a few stairs as it was on the top floor, but that was not an issue for us. The kitchen was very well equipped. My first thoughts (until I slept on the bed) were that I would want to book again.
As we collected the key, two very drunk guys stumbled out of the building, where there were a few apartments. They were pleasant enough, but it felt a bit concerning, and I would have not felt totally safe if I'd been travelling alone. There was no wifi - at all. It did not exist. When we contacted the host they said they'd come the next morning, but we were only staying a night. Hopefully this was sorted for the next guests. The beds looked pretty and new, but were cheap, with slats too wide apart and bad mattresses, and were unbelievably uncomfortable. Had a terrible sleep and it took a few weeks for my back to recover. Such a pity that the hosts scrimped on this as otherwise it would have been a nice stay. The other (worse!) problem was that in the morning, there was an awful burning smell from downstairs. I was a bit concerned. The apartment is very high up and a door from the main bedroom led to a fire escape. But that thick UPVC door was locked and there was no key. I then had a look to see if there was a smoke alarm. Well, nope - there was one old alarm up on the second floor with the battery out and the battery compartment totally empty. TBH we were glad to get out and are already concerned about another booking we have for Pearl St in July with the same company. If it's the same situation, it seems I'll need to bring my own blow-up mattress and smoke alarm in order to be able to sleep.
The apartment as a whole was lovely with everything you need for a short stay.
The beds and pillows were very comfortable.
We were told we would have netflix but we didn't.
It could've been cleaner. Some areas were dusty and one of the bed sheets had a slight stain on it.
Great stay and the flat was everything I needed. Host and Stay checked in with me to make sure everything was OK. Only issue was no hot water on my first evening but that was remedied with the owner popping round the next day.
The flat itself is lovely, comfortable and was in a great location. I’d definitely book again for a future visit.
Very comfortable and clean. modern stylish, could live there
fabulous property - spacious and bright.
*Had to move two lamps from the bedroom into the living room in the evening for ambience.
*price for one night is quite high.
beautiful location and very nicely decorated and furnished
slight problem with Wi-Fi when we arrived but sorted quickly. could do with a bread knife but only little comment as we managed
We had a great stay in this beautiful newly-refurbished flat. The location is amazing - so close to the seafront but also to local shops. Everything was spotless (in fact much of it was brand new!) and really comfy. There wasn’t a highchair as stated in the listing but the owner was really kindly round within an hour to provide us with one. A few teething difficulties with WiFi and hot water but they were also promptly fixed and communication was great - they even let us extend our stay by a day cos we were loving Saltburn so much. Overall would totally recommend :)
Great facilities, the place was very spacious, good value for money, our stay was very enjoyable and comfortable.
Parking wasn't very good, especially in our situation where we needed to have the van near to the property.
The property was beautifully presented, perfect location, comfort and style in abundance.
Nothing to complain about.
Clearly newly decorated throughout and with new carpets.
Very tastefully done, lovely touches all round, slight improvements could be made as suggested previously.
Love the Nespresso coffee maker and the tea, coffee and sugar all filled up.
Everything thought of in the kitchen, again, all brand new.
Location is absolutely spot on, with free parking.
On entering apartment, was greeted with a pile of post on floor, and hanging out letter box.
Milk in fridge 3 weeks out of date, dishwasher not emptied from previous guests.
Snail/Slug slime in second bedroom, no blind/curtain/frosted glass on front door, which looks straight into living area and directly into main bedroom, offering no privacy.
Very poorly sound proofed/insulated, against noise from other guests staying in adjoining apartments. (could hear everything word for word)
No Netflix on TV, which was stated as available, also for the sake of an extension lead tv could sit more centrally in alcove. Could consider putting an uplight or floor light in between sofas, to give a softer light in the evenings.
Although free standing hanging rails available, (plenty of room to put proper built-in wardrobes in both bedrooms) there were no drawers to put clothing in, which is a shame as plenty of room available to do so.
Although a nice touch with high swivel chair and shelf area in bedroom to get ready, might want to consider a large mirror on wall space rather than a freestanding shaving mirror.
Cup hooks on back of bathroom doors could be replaced with more substantial door hooks to hang towels.
Great location with the sea/beach at one end of the road and parade of shops at the other end. Flat immaculate, spacious and very quiet, we all slept well.
