Property Details

The Space
39 George Street’s heart is in its living room. Cosy, comfortable and plenty of room for the entire household to gather in, you could take a seat on the sofa and make use of the wall mounted flatscreen after a heavy day exploring Whitby as you relax, or just catch a five minute sit down with a drink in one of the armchairs and enjoy the soothing atmosphere of the natural decorations.

Further into the property you’ll arrive at the dining room, a homely space that comes with a table and chairs to seat full occupancy. Annexed to the dining room is the kitchen which, though small, sacrifices nothing to what a kitchen can provide. Fully armed with all cookware, cutlery and crockery that you require for your cooking creations. You can also make easy use of the other amenities on offer, including a toaster, kettle, dishwasher, fridge and freezer, microwave and electric hobs.

Upstairs in 39 George Street you will find an additional two floors, spread out over which are the property’s three bedrooms and main bathroom. The first bedroom can be found on the first floor and contains a Super king-sized bed, fitted with plush bed linens and finest sheets that are ideal to get you a perfect night’s sleep. It also has plenty of space for you to make use of, and wardrobes and drawers for storing all you need for your stay. It also has a laptop friendly workspace for you to make use of should the need arise. The other two bedrooms can be found on the second floor, one containing a king size bed and the other containing another Super king, which likewise have the plush bedding and sheets to give you the best rest possible. All bedrooms can be reconfigured to accommodate 2 single beds in each for maximum flexibility. Also, the main bedroom has an extra single if should you need it for a child or extra guest.

The family bathroom also shares the first floor with one bedroom. Enjoy a relaxing soak in the stand alone bathtub, or take advantage of the stand-in shower and make use of its rainfall feature after your action packed days out in Whitby. There is also a WC on the ground floor for your convenience.

The centre of Whitby, and Whitby Harbour are just a short walk from 39 George Street, so it’s ideal if you want to experience what life is like living by the sea.

The area is famous for the quality of its fish and chip restaurants, and there are plenty of places where you can sink your teeth into a fresh catch. When you fancy a drink, you’ll find a variety of bars as well as pubs and shops in the local area.

Whitby is also famous for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’. You’ll find plenty of sites near the apartment with historic interest relating to the story. The main inspiration can be found at the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey.

Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. In particular, Dalby Forest and Guisborough Forest, just a short drive away and they both have various beautiful walking and cycling routes to explore.

Getting Around
39 George Street is just a short walk to the town centre, Whitby harbour and the bus and train station. Villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.

There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.

Really lovely clean space with clear instructions for everything. Free parking right outside was great and the location was lovely, thanks so much!



A very well equipped house with all the amenities anyone could need. Spacious and also very well appointed with easy access to the harbour, shops and restaurants. We had a great five night stay however the parking is a minor problem. There is no designated parking spot so basically it's every man for himself as regards that. Leaving that to one side a pretty perfect holiday home.

Great place to explore Whitby from!



We had a lovely stay at this property! The location is excellent - only a very short 5 mins walk to the harbour area (co-op, pubs, fish & chips, etc), with lovely walks along the coast and to the touristy parts. The communal areas (lounge and dining room) are brilliant. The kitchen is small, as in the description, but was perfectly fine for cooking for 6 adults in the evening!

Only comments - there was no mention in the listing how low the ceiling is on the top floor in tbe converted (Website hidden by Airbnb) someone who is only 5ft 4in - I still hit my head repeatedly! And everyone else in our group was over 6ft so had to duck significantly to be able to get into bed! As a result, we spent zero time in the bedrooms apart from to sleep, but they were very comfortable once in bed! I imagine these rooms would be OK for kids etc!
Overall we would still come back to this property, just would help to have been aware about the very low ceilings beforehand!

A well presented, clean house a short walk from the town. Beautifully decorated, all amenities catered for. Very comfortable beds, lots of storage, and lots of room to relax.
We would stay at this property again.



The house was clean and spacious and served as a good base for four of us. It’s only a short walk into town but quite steep which could be tricky for some. It was newly decorated.



Great Location
Tough to find parking close to the house



Our family of 5 had an amazing stay, so homely and comfortable. Also extremely clean. Abit of a steep hill from the harbour to the house so would say if that's an issue for you be aware. Great to get on street free parking, did get very busy but always found a space. Management were great, so much information provided and communication/replies very fast.
Main bedroom didn't have a full window blind and as I was staying in that room with a toddler i did need to use something to block the light but not a big deal.



Stylish, very clean, comfortable beds, new carpets and appliances, great location
Safety locks on the velux windows in the attic are needed - they are easily opened by young children standing on the bed and it’s a long drop from there!! Also a bit more cutlery, and some other utensils like scissors (we left a pair for you), peeler and cafetière would be ace.

Nice house in good order, very clean and comfortable too. There is on-street parking but there was never a space while we were there so we parked a few streets down every day. The house is located very close to Whitby centre but be aware (as with many things in town) it is a bit of a steep road back up to the house. We had a good stay.
