Property Details
The Space
The Den @ Westcliff boasts a welcoming living area with lots of character. Relax on the comfy, grey sofa and sit back in front of the flat screen TV and watch your favourite shows on Freeview with your feet on the pouffe and admire the shining silver ornaments.
Head to the kitchen and you’ll find a spartan, but modern space. The room is bright and airy with white wooden cabinets and light wood worktops, as well as the slick black electric hob. You’ll have everything you need to prepare home cooked meals during your stay as the kitchen is equipped with a cunningly housed oven and grill, microwave, toaster, kettle and refrigerator, with plenty of storage space - housing cookware, dishes and silverware. Sharing the kitchen is the dining area which includes a white dining table and grey chairs where you and your travelling companion can enjoy your wonderful home-cooked meal together.
Escape up the true novelty of the spiral staircase and retreat to the bedroom after a full day of exploring Whitby and enjoy your night's sleep in the comfortable, double bed. Boasting premium bedding and linens, there is a truly luxurious feel. The bathroom features a craftily placed bathtub featuring an overhead shower, as well as a WC and wash basin.
Outside you’ll find an enclosed patio area from which you can gain access to the property.
Neighborhood
Set on the West side of Whitby, The Den @ Westcliff is just a short walk from the central Flowergate. Find cosy pubs, fun arcades and plenty of fish restaurants on Pier Road. Venture along the lively road and you’ll reach the beautiful, blue flag West Cliff Beach which is lined with idyllic beach huts. At the other end of Pier Road, you’ll find the swing bridge which sits over the River Esk.
On the opposite side of the bridge is the East bank. This side of Whitby is full of narrow, medieval streets dotted with boutiques, pubs and fish restaurants. Climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary. You can also discover the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’.
Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park so it’s the perfect place for long walks.
Getting Around
The centre of Whitby is a short five-minute walk from The Den @ Westcliff.
Whitby train station is less than half a mile away on foot so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.
There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.

stylist and modern with little extras
access was v off putting as it was down an alley at the back of 2 streets . It was full of bins and on one occasion 2 duvets were laying on the ground . There were unsavoury smells and sounds .
It was also difficult to find, the directions supplied were inadequate and I had to ring the letting agent for further information.

very clean and comfortable. nice touch to have a starter pack of milk, sugar,coffee, biscuits and tea
took a little finding ( a sketch of the property position could be useful) not clear where the wheelie bins were (information not clear) we took rubbish away

Loved this little apartment near all facilities, however we did find the spiral staircase a bit daunting and steep,but we soon got used to it.
There was nothing we didn't like it was a great little get away and friendly hosts would reccomend this lovely little apartment.

Convenient location. Very clean and comfortable, lovely decor. Large flat screen TV. Plenty of hot water. Large bath. Wi-Fi. Tea, coffee, sugar, milk in fridge, Well equiped.

great location, very well appointed, comfortable and very easy check in/check out. Street metered parking is nearby and it’s a very short walk into the centre
car access to alleyway at rear is very tight to get out of - dont try this with anything g bigger than a hatchback!

it was a bit different to a hotel. albeit in a densely populated area, we barely saw anyone. all the home comforts.

The cleanliness was amazing! Can’t fault the standard at all. Location was great, easy to find and get around.

Only slight downfall, like very slight issue, was that the kitchen was well equipped with milk tea and coffee just no sugar.

fantastic stay! beautiful house with lots of character and charm, clean and very comfortable the standard of everything is excellent. we had a great nights sleep in super comfy bed and made the most of complementary extras in the morning!!!
will highly recommend to friends and family and hope to be back

Perfect stay for 2 adults and 2 small dogs. The bed was so comfy and the kitchen had everything we needed for our stay. Very modern but a real cozy feeling. We will definitely be visiting again.

Great location, dog friendly and very clean. Would definitely recommend it to friends. Only disadvantage is the walk to the property which is at the rear of a house. You have to walk down an alley where all the bins and rubbish are left out which is not attractive are but once in the property you do not see that. We will be staying here again
