The Space
The Cottage @ Bagdale Hall has a bright and spacious open plan living, kitchen and dining area. As you enter the property, you’ll find the living area on the left. Featuring a statement brick fireplace with a log burner, a flat screen TV and two comfy sofas, this space is perfect for relaxing.

The kitchen and dining area can be found on the right as you walk in. Sleek in style, the kitchen boasts dove grey, high shine cabinets and modern appliances. With everything you could need to prepare meals during your stay, you can make the most of your self-catering stay in Whitby. The dining area includes a white dining table and matching chairs.

Take the stairs up to the first floor and you’ll find three bedrooms and the family bathroom. The master bedroom has a king size bed and an ensuite shower room. The second bedroom also features a king size bed and the third is a single. Each bedroom has a flat screen TV and premium bed linens to ensure you have the most comfortable stay.

The family bathroom features a bath with an overhead shower, WC and basin.

Host & Stay are committed to our owners that their homes are protected during bookings. For this reason, we require all of our guests to transfer a £250.00 Damage Deposit (subject to a £10.00 administration charge) or, to purchase an Accidental Damage Waiver for £25.00 which will cover you for up to £500.00 of accidental damage during your stay.

The centre of Whitby, and Whitby Harbour are just a few short steps away from the property so it’s ideal if you want to experience what life is like living by the sea.

The area is famous for the quality of its fish and chip restaurants, and there are plenty of places where you can sink your teeth into a fresh catch. When you fancy a drink, you’ll find a variety of bars as well as pubs and shops in the local area.

Whitby is also famous for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’. You’ll find plenty of sites near the apartment with historic interest relating to the story. The main inspiration can be found at the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey.

Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. In particular, Dalby Forest and Guisborough Forest, just a short drive away and they both have various beautiful walking and cycling routes to explore.

Getting Around
The Cottage @ Bagdale Hall is just a short walk to the town centre, Whitby harbour and the bus and train station. Villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.

There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.

Pretty clean, extremely well situated place. The place was completely functional.
We never quite figured out the heating properly but were never cold. Hot if anything. Communication with the agency was good, perhaps a little too much… I kept getting texts and emails reminding of my check out time and date which felt a little unnecessary. This was definitely an agency run rental not a private house so it felt rather bare and empty and definitely lacked a little charm and homeliness.
A welcome loaf of bread or bottle of wine or a note might have been nice. The place is owned by a hotel right next to it but strangely not administered by them. They were however extremely helpful and friendly with a few of our requests.
Amazing location to explore the town and surrounding area which is all fabulous.



Accommodation was great from start to finish, any issues I had the host was quick to respond and resolve the issues!
Property is exactly as described with photos matching so what you see in the ad is what you get, which was perfect and all we needed for our wee getaway!
Location is perfect you just walk down the street and your in Whitby centre close to all that you need and want to visit! Private car parking which is hard to come by when looking for accommodation in Whitby!

We (family of 5) stayed here for 2 nights. The place is really well located with easy access to the centre of Whitby, but tucked away so nice and quiet. As other people have mentioned, it is very hard to find, but apart from that I can't fault it. The car parking space is a definite bonus, and the house is clean and as shown in the pictures. We will definitely look to book here again when we come back to Whitby next summer.



Fantastic location close to the centre of Whitby, great to pop back during the day for rests, lunch etc. Clean and quiet location. The only thing was it was incredibly hard to find - we had to ask in one of the hotels nearby



Really clean and only a couple minutes away from the harbour - great base for a weekend in Whitby!



Great house and perfect central location. Only lcomplaint was check in was after 4pm and check out was 10am and not able to extend. These times could be changed to give guests more time in property.



We really enjoyed our stay. Although difficult to find (instructions need to be clearer), the property itself is beautiful, spacious and spotlessly clean. Parking space for one car was a bonus. Right in the heart of Whitby with shops, bars and restaurants literally a 2 minute walk away. Would definitely return.

Perfect location close to all amenities, clean, tidy and as shown in the pictures. Rare to find such a good quality place with parking so close to everything. Would stay again.

Me and my family spent 4 nights here and loved it. The location is fantastic being only metres from the shopping centre, bars and cafes. The property is spacious and comfortable and has an allocated parking space which is great. I would like to return in the future.

Excellent location for facilities, spacious property. Only negative is wholesalers next door were quite noisy and would park lorries across the private driveway each morning, blocking access (on double yellows) -hosts informed to hopefully sort that out.



The accommodation was wonderful and as expected. Great location, parking was easily accessible. The setting was clean and comfortable and incredibly spacious. My only concern was that there was numerous miscommunications from host & stay which was unfortunate and added additional stresses and a lack of clarity. The accommodation itself was perfect for our family holiday and would look to book again for our return trip.

This cottage is amazing. So big and clean. Tucked away from the main road and so close to town.



Good central location and very clean



Brilliant stay, so close to town and amenities. Very clean and everything u could think of was there eg towels, hand soap,washing up liquid, foil, milk, tea and coffee. We struggled to get the heating on when we arrived (all 5 of us tried)instructions said to just use the up and down arrows on the monitor to control temperature which didn't work. Turned out the actual thermostat on the wall next to the boiler had been turned off. So if u can't get it to work check that (it's tucked on the wall at the left side of the boiler). Once we got the heating on it was more than warm enough. The weekend we visited we had snow and gales that bad you couldn't walk along the front but we were nice and cosy. Great resource file in the house with local recommendations etc



Clean facilities, location is great as everything is walking distance and there is sainsburys, Aldi etc just a 5 minute drive away. Perfect!

A peaceful, very modern and new super clean place to stay. Very close to the town, no need to use your car. Great that its so private and the parking right outside with a sealed entrance. Everything you could need to hand for a perfect stay.
