Gather your loved togethers and enjoy a family staycation at Hidden Treasure. Sleeping up to 10 guests, you’ll have exclusive access to the property during your stay which includes a spacious open plan kitchen, living and dining area, a second reception room, five bedrooms and five bathrooms. Located on the North Yorkshire coast in the popular town of Whitby, Hidden Treasure is a fantastic choice for a retreat by the sea.

Trip Details

The Space
Hidden Treasure has beautiful interiors throughout. On the ground floor, you’ll find a bright and spacious living area with a chaise lounge sofa, tub style chairs, a flat screen TV and a statement fireplace. The perfect place to unwind with your loved ones, you can retreat here after a fun day of exploring Whitby.

The kitchen diner is at the rear of the space. With white, high shine cabinets and modern appliances, the kitchen is both stylish and fully equipped. The dining area seats up to 10 so you can enjoy home cooked meals together.

Hidden Treasure has five stunning bedrooms. You’ll find a king bedroom with an ensuite shower room on the first floor as well as a cosy snug room.

Take the stairs to the second floor and there are a further two king bedrooms. One bedroom features an ensuite shower room and the other has an ensuite with a traditional freestanding bathtub. A separate shower room is also located on the second floor.

On the third floor, you’ll find the final two bedrooms. This includes a king bedroom with an ensuite shower room and a small double room.

Neighborhood
Set on the West side of Whitby, Hidden Treasure is just a short walk from the central Flowergate. Find cosy pubs, fun arcades and plenty of fish restaurants on Pier Road. Venture along the lively road and you’ll reach the beautiful, blue flag West Cliff Beach which is lined with idyllic beach huts. At the other end of Pier Road, you’ll find the swing bridge which sits over the River Esk.

On the opposite side of the bridge is the East bank. This side of Whitby is full of narrow, medieval streets dotted with boutiques, pubs and fish restaurants. Climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary. You can also discover the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’.

Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park so it’s the perfect place for long walks.

Getting Around
The centre of Whitby is a short ten-minute walk from Hidden Treasure.

Whitby train station is less than a mile away on foot so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.

There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.

Great communication and brilliant location! The bedrooms were lovely, just lacked storage space in the kitchen and so hard to park!! Would recommend visiting due to location to Whitby.

Nice place, well situated, big rooms but if it is for 8 to 10 people, it should have at least 8 coffee mugs. The listing say we can request late check-out which i did but it wasn't up for negotiation! 10 am for check-out is really early!

This is such a lovely property in a beautiful location, just a short walk to the beach and shops and would definitely stay again. A few extra utensils and a large saucepan in the otherwise well equipped kitchen would be perfect for large groups.

Would highly recommend this wonderful home, we ladies wanted for nothing, house was really high speck, bathrooms where excellent, along with bedrooms, 2 living ares with lots of comfy seating, 2 minute walk to nearest pub with wonderful food, another 10 mins to the center couldn't fault our stay.

The property was perfect for a large group of ten of us including two children and two dogs. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything you need and everything was in good working order. All rooms are decorated to a good standard with large, comfortable sofas. Bedrooms are very spacious all with en-suite and beds very comfortable. Large, fluffy towels included as well as nice finishing touches such as hand soap, cleaning products and reed diffusers. Be warned that there are a lot of stairs which is to be expected in a Victorian terraced property of that size. The location is perfect, less than five minute walk to the harbour area and plenty of amenities close by. I would definitely recommend this house for a large group.

Great place for friends or family get together.
Spacious, clean and comfortable.
Location excellent.
Super communication with hosts.
Property (and Whitby in general) not ideal for guests with mobility problems due to stairs/steps.

Good accommodation, good location very well appointed only a few niggles with storage in bedrooms. Beds very comfortable and everything very clean. Stairs to top floor are quite steep for seniors. Parking permits for two cars but not always room in street but usually ok in surrounding streets.

Lovely house in a great location , fab room sizes and spotlessly clean . Lovely comfy beds and linen.
Few little bits missing such as a full length Mirror and dressing table mirror in 1 bedroom which us girls really need .
However we had a fab weekend and enjoyed some lovely weather x

Great house very close to the centre of town.

The hob didn’t work for the first two days; although they responded quickly to try and repair it, they were unable to do so and finally replaced it with an smaller appliance that left a large gap in the counter.

The house looked impressive at first but when you looked closely it was not hugely clean, particularly the kitchen floor.

However it worked well for our large family. The location is unbeatable.

Fabulous property. A brilliant place to stay.
Parking is a challenge as there are no designated spaces for the property although we managed to park nearby using the permits provided.

Really lovely house in an excellent location. All but one room was a fantastic size, and the shared spaces were very comfortable. We went as five couples and found the house to be excellent for our party as there was enough bedrooms plus bathrooms for everybody to have their own space.

What a lovely house, we had a super time there is loads of room nicely decorated and well situated just a short walk to the centre of town. The front garden area is a great place to catch the sun before heading out. Recommend a visit.

We really enjoyed our stay. A lovely house and a brilliant location. The only slight issues we noticed were lack of outside bins (1 very small black bin that was full when we arrived, so we had to put binbags by the side and seagulls kept pulling it apart). There was also some rubbish behind the door in the double bedroom on the top floor. Apart from that everything was perfect and we really enjoyed our time and we’d definitely come back. Thank you!

Brilliant stay for myself and large family.
The location was perfect just a short walk to the whale bones and down into the heart of Whitby. Not far from the bus stop which takes you to Sandsend.
The parking permits provided were fantastic!
Two provided which was enough for us once parked up we didn’t move the cars which was nice.

The house itself is large with multiple floors all the rooms well thought out and decorated. I’ve never seen a building have so many bathrooms :)

Large spaces with two seating areas a lovely kitchen dinner. The beds were really comfy too!
If taking children and you need a high chair or cot, these are provided but you need to request them before you arrive so they can have them in the home as they’re not kept onsite.

I would 100% visit again. Thank you for having us.

Lovely accomodation, clean and supplied with all ammenities you could wish for. Easy check-in and hosts on hand to answer any queries. Parking in nearby streets but able to unload outside property without obstructing traffic. Not suitable for those with walking difficulties. No rear garden but a pleasant front garden to sit in. Great stay
