Property Details

The Space
Princess Place Townhouse is a relaxing home from home in the centre of Whitby on the North Yorkshire coast. The perfect spot to unwind with your loved ones, the living area has a comfy sofa, flat screen TV and log burner. You’ll have everything you could need to prepare meals during your stay as the kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances and cookware. Sharing the open plan space is the dining area which includes a light wood table and white chairs.

Upstairs on the first floor, you’ll find the first two bedrooms in the property and a shower room. Both bedrooms have a tranquil feel with neutral colour schemes and soft furnishings. The first bedroom features a king size bed and the second is a double.

Take the stairs to the second floor and you’ll find the final bedroom along with the bathroom. Ideal for families, the super king bed can be enjoyed as one bed or split into two singles. The bathroom on this floor features sloped ceilings, a skylight window and freestanding bathtub.

Neighborhood
Set on the West side of Whitby, Princess Place Townhouse is a short walk into the centre of town. Head to Pier Road and you’ll find cosy pubs, fun arcades and plenty of fish restaurants. Continue along the lively road until you reach the beautiful, blue flag West Cliff Beach which is lined with idyllic beach huts. At the other end of Pier Road, you’ll notice the swing bridge which sits over the River Esk.

Over the bridge, you’ll find yourself on the East bank which is full of narrow medieval streets dotted with boutiques, pubs and fish restaurants. Climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary. You can also discover the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’.

Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park so it’s the perfect place for long walks.

Getting Around
The centre of Whitby is a short walk from Princess Place Townhouse.

Whitby train station is less than a mile away so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.

There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.

cleanliness, location and spacious. Very well equipped kitchen.
The bed on the top floor, uncomfortable and noisy. Would also prefer one bedroom with twin beds would make it more desirable for some groups of people. A washing machine would be a great asset and stronger kitchen utensils very flimsy.

Had a lovely stay, however the parking situation wasn’t made clear and it was very hard to open any of the windows apart from the top room. Also, there was no note about the area behind the kitchen being accessed by other people, quite a shock when I was on my own to see someone arrive in the house- if they are linked it should maybe be mentioned.
But thank you for a good stay

location and warm
we moved the second sofa during our stay from under the window so it was facing the TV. This also prevented drafty viewing of the TV on a night as the sofa was no longer in front of the window.

Very clean and fresh looking cottage. Close to all amenities.
Loved the tub bath

The top floor bed is 2 single beds together. Its very squeaky and the springs don't offer much support.
Woke with a aching back every morning.

The location was amazing. This is a beautiful house with very cosy warm vibes. Parking outside was fine, and the shower was something else. The bed on the top floor was massive and very comfy, and the whole house was brilliantly decorated. Would definitely recommend staying here. 10/10.

Very modern, felt cosy, beds so comfy. Love the tv had netflicks. Close to everything we had.the bestest time..
Was perfect only thing that would have made a it easier would of been a little back garden space for the dog to go in and out in

Central location, lovely house and very comfortable. Facilities (bathroom And kitchen) were excellent and would recommend staying here as a family
Parking is not good, we couldn’t even get one car parked at the property and nearest alternative parking is 10-15 walk away. 3x couples stayed so we had 3 cars and it was quite annoying

Me and five of my friends had a lovely stay here. The location was perfect to get to all of Whitby’s attractions and the house was spotless. All of the bedrooms were a good size and we even had some milk waiting for us in the fridge when we arrived. The hosts were really helpful, always getting back to us quickly and were very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place for anybody visiting Whitby!

But ambiguous listing meant we expected outside space. And the parking was tricky. No outside space makes it very hard when you have a family who is back from the beach! On the plus side, location couldn’t be better and the house is very good. Be great to have had a washing machine, again, easier with family

The property was lovely and had no issues with getting in settling. We had a lovely time.

Parking is so hard though and maybe worth making this more open in the ad.

Other things to note where that having pets and no garden made it very hard work as had to go out very early with them to find grass.

Finally the big kitchen utensils where so flimsy making them very difficult to cook family meals.

Great location though and very clean!

Beautifully presented house and spotlessly clean. Very good location. Parking outside not always available, but hosts offer ideas regarding where to park. The hosts have thought of everything to make you feel at home. We would definitely return and recommend this property.

This cottage is absolutely delightful throughout. It is decorated superbly and the 2nd bathroom is just so lush. The location was ideal, the cottage was spacious and comfortable.

Great house in the centre on Whitby. We stayed with our two children and small dog and the house had loads of space for all of us and everything needed to make you feel at hone. The centre is a couple of minutes away with all its small shops, cafes, etc and quite a lot was open. we loved walking along the beach to Sandsend for lunch. Make sure you check closing times if you want to eat out as a few places stop serving early out of season.

Lovely property, great location. The house was well equipped with comfy beds and furniture. Very central to the two, only a short 5 min walk to the harbour. Only point there were no cleaning products left in the property, the house instructions stated there would be.
