Location was in an area of regeneration so there were a number of boarded up properties and others undergoing renovation a bit rough,
Unkempt front garden area and communal areas require some attention.

No breakfast included good location for Scarborough open air theatre
Too expensive for 1 night

The apartment was absolutely marvellous clean tidy well finished everything was there that we needed like towels tea coffee even down to milk

The apartmen5t had everything you could possibly need - fridge, cooker, hair dryer etc. There isn't any parking but at the bottom of the road there is an NCP and the rates are good - about £9 for 24 hours.

Lovely interior and view of the cricket ground. Good location. Extremely clean and had more than was needed including a dishwasher, washing machine and fully equipped kitchen.
There were quite a lot of stairs as the apartment is at the top of the building.

- a few years earlier
Keys were mixed up in the box on arrival. At first we made our way into Skippers Rest before after a couple of phone calls we got into our own Apartment No.2 Bowlers Rest
We had seen the parking permit scratch card in Skippers Rest but left it there as i was expecting somebody else would have booked that.
There was no scratch card in Apartment 2 - we paid every day on the Castle Road Car Park.

Location was good just could have done without all the stairs lol but we got used to that. The apartment had almost everything needed very well thought out. The only thing could have had was a few door hooks on back of the door & a better mattresses as was too soft & had a bit of backache.

Cooker was a challenge to work the large ring didn't work at all no instructions early hours of Monday morning there was lots of banging at the front door and loads of noise for about 20 minutes then noticed as we left the front door had loads of damage to the lock with splinters of wood on the floor. And as we arrived I had to ring to get instructions on the key access this had not been sent. These are only minor middles as the place it's self was great. The windows and blinds could do with a clean but no one is in control of seagulls making the mess

bathroom could do with a little work, drain cover on shower missing which made it look dirty. Better instructions to operate heating especially the heated towel rail in bathroom.

The stairs were very difficult for someone with a mild disability. There should be banisters on both sides from a safety point of view.

Tried to email saying this but got no response so putting it here.
We have recently just returned from our 4 night stay at the Anchor apartment in Scarborough from the 20th April until the 24th April 2022. Unfortunately it wasn't the best experience we have had, this was due to the electric going off on the first morning we were there (the Thursday 21st ). This issue wasn't resolved until tea time that day. Unbelievably, we woke up to the same issue on day four which was the Saturday. However this time it couldn't be resolved and we had to move to another apartment across the town. As you can imagine, it had a massive impact on how we could enjoy our holiday.
Although the apartment that we moved to was nice, when we have had a look at the site not only was it cheaper than the one we originally booked it was also quite a distance from where we had paid to park our car. Everyone I spoke to at Host and Stay were lovely but it was so stressfull that I had to call in the first place as I am quite an anxious person. All of these factors resulted in the holiday not being as relaxing as we had hoped.

The property was well appointed and very comfortable
Lack of parking, using a nearby car park was expensive, we’ve stayed in hotels in the same area in the past and were given a permit to be able to park on the street, this would be a welcome improvement

Excellent facilities and exceptionally clean, view overlooking cricket ground and able to watch matches was very enjoyable. Convenient to town centre and beaches.

Lovely bright room, clean and tidy. Very nice view of the cricket grounds to the rear. The room was well furnished and equipped.
The description of renting 'the entire apartment' was misleading as it is actually a Studio. There was a partition between the bed and the living area/kitchenette, although it is flimsy and allows light through. Would be much improved with a substantial partition.

The fact that there was no parking available unless you use a disc that wasn’t provided yet we found out that you can get them from local shops free of charge.

There was no Breakfast but Tea , Coffee and Milk much appreciated .
Location was very good and peaceful . The view of Scarborough Cricket Ground was fabulous . The Cricket wasn't bad either . Restaurants nearby , town centre within walking distance .
The double bed was a little narrow with no spare room to move around
I could have done with a Hob guide as it took me while to figure it
out .

parking is a nightmare, cost me £18.40 for 48 hour parking

Decor and general vibe of the apartment was great. Apartment was clean and well-presented. The guide book was comprehensive. The interior is up to date and has obviously been influenced by someone with a keen eye for interior design. Overall it had a very metropolitan London sort of style which was wuite interesting for Scarborough!
No view for the particular apartment we stayed in which was not obvious from the pics as the pics on the Booking were was all of the apartments together. Can't really be helped though due to building design.
Couple of minor maintenance items:
1: The bed frame bolts need tightening as the frame itself is loose. I tightened them hand-tight but they will come lose again. Just needs someone with an alan key.
2: Door handle rose in bathroom is loose. Just needs tightening with an alan key.

1: Sofa is obviously more leaning towards style rather than comfort. It did the job though, so all good.

the general property was very nice.
the sink in the kitchen area has a really bad smell coming from the drain. the shower has bad pressure and the blind in the living area would not fully close so was letting light in.

We liked the idea of utilising an apartment. The washing machine was a plus, as was the dishwasher.
The photos on the website suggested a view of the cricket ground to the rear. In fact the view turned out to be a very small courtyard and an annexe to the building - no view of the cricket ground.
The site said the property didn't accept pets which was a plus. However, someone upstairs had a dog which we heard running around due to hard floors above, and there were muddy paw prints on the carpets outside our apartment. Also, it was not pleasant to be sitting in the apartment, which was located on the ground floor, to look out of the front window to see a large dog emptying itself in the front garden in front of our window.
The place had repair issues, as there were cracks running down the walls, the worktop wasn't sealed properly and there was a good gap between it and the wall, there are no splashbacks behind the hob or sink and these were stained badly. There was some damp in the kitchen. The door furniture was loose and some of it hanging off, such as the scutcheon in the bathroom. The shower drain lacked a cover so we would need to stand on an open drain, and the drain itself was filthy.
The walls in the bathroom, although tiled nicely, were filthy and had residue of grout.
The walls were dirty around the sink. The hand towel rail was loose and hanging off.
The front room window evidently hadn't been cleaned for a long time and there were cobwebs and dead spiders on the sash.
The louvre blinds were missing pully-knobs and missing cover slips at the top, one of which was found propped up in the bedroom. The hall way also contained cobwebs at eye level, so clearly this area hadn't been cleaned.
Although 2 remote controls were provided for tvs in the front room and bedroom, one of them did not work, so we had to keep taking the remotes from room to room. The bedroom contained no storage for clothing and although there was a hanging rail, it contained only 3 hangers, which was insufficent for two people for a week's clothing.

Host and stay need to be more effective at dealing with potential emergency issues. our building fire alarm was triggered by another guest during our stay ( never even came out their room !?). this resulted in a deafening sound throughout all areas of the property. After exiting the building, calls were made to host and stay to advise of the issue. I noted a lack of urgency for 1. a fire alarm going off at a property and any instruction 2. a lack of action to send a maintenance person to fix the main alarm box.
After 30 minutes with 4 guests outside the property, the alarm was eventually reset by a guest at the main box.
no engineer had attended site to correct the central alarm box whilst we stayed for the next three days after the event.

It was close to the beach,park and.shops. The property was very clean and comfortable.
Although the shower room had frosted glass. We felt that a blind would add to the privacy of the room.

Excellent location in Scarborough. Newly renovated apartment overlooking the cricket ground. Excellent kitchen facilities for a holiday let, including washing machine & dishwasher which were a bonus.
Reported broken toilet seat found on our arrival as did not want to incur any charges for damage that was done prior to our visit. Still not repaired when we left. Noise from other apartments quite loud at times...... especially at 4am when the people in the apartment above us were getting up, could hear every move, it sounded like a heard of elephants above us!

There is nothing really I can say that I disliked about the property I found it a little annoying that the netflix wouldn't connect and a few more instructions on how to use the oven but other than that nothing to complain about ?

It was a great property that had just about everything you required for a short break. Bed was very comfortable.
Be careful in choosing your apartment at this venue as we were three flights of steep stairs up. Nice views over cricket ground but windows would have benefitted from a clean. Also, no hanging space other than on back of bathroom door.

The property was very spacious, clean, equipped with all essentials needed. It was also in a good location, not much of a walk to anything that you wanted to see in Scarborough. Would highly recommend and would definitely visit again.

Not too far from city centre, spacious and modern flat, had everything you would need for a weekend away
The walls have to be really thin as you can hear even neighbor snoring at night but it doesn’t bother much, the biggest surprise was a fact that you have to dispose of all waste from internal to external bins, been in a lot of places but never in my life had to do it before

There was no place to hang clothes up. Luckily we had coat hangers with us and used the wooden divider to hang them. This tho made apartment look untidy.

Didn't like the stairs up to top flat. Flat was dusty, window blinds where very dusty. Kept finding bit of brick that had fallen off the walls onto table and bed.

The bed is advertised as king, it’s only a double so my partner and I barley got any sleep. I would not of booked if I’d known it was a double. It is also very squeaky and very soft.
The walls are paper thin so we could hear everything going on in the apartment above at 3am.
The apartment says it overlooks the cricket ground, The Anchor apartment did not.
No wifi code shown in paperwork.

Lovely, clean bedsit style top of the house in new conversion. Decent size kitchen. Few minutes walk from North Bay for a morning dip.
I hadn't clicked that it overlooked (directly) 'Scarborough Cricket ground' and we should have had two days of a test match. (Somerset lost early?). My husband didn't like that. ? I didn't care...

Was clean, spacious with lovely view front and back, lights are amazing and heating works and warms up quickly. Bed really comfortable marked down due to WiFi and a few little issues.
WiFi did not work at all! Called and advised no fibre optics in apartment! Mouldy cup in dishwasher and towel rail in toilet coming off the wall. Sofa bed in living room sticks out at the back so bruised our legs walking around in the living room/kitchen. As we had no WiFi the tv does not connect to anything including iPlayer and Netflix.

Rooms were gorgeous, location was very central and near the beach.
Property was advertised with wifi and there wasn’t any.

Great location. Very well equipped and stylish apartment. We stayed in the bowlers retreat which had an unexpected bonus of a little outdoor terrace looking on to the cricket grounds. Central only a ten to fifteen min walk to all main attractions.
The wifi didn’t work and a parking permit would have made life much easier.

Enjoyed an overnight stay at this stylish ground floor apartment in Scarborough. Newly done up. Spacious and well furnished. Soft bed with good linen and deep carpet in the bedroom. Well stocked kitchen with complimentary Nespresso pods and milk. Slightly too far to walk to the south beach for us, but certainly possible, and one street away from the path down to the north beach. No parking provided, but possible to park overnight across the road if there’s a space. Wifi not available while we were there (but this is as accurately stated). Run by a company but fairly efficient and useful communication. Would recommend.

Such a welcoming place to stay, absolutely loved the book full of places to go and emergency contacts, so thoughtful. Everything you could possibly need was provided by the property and we had the best weekend stay.
The parking situation could be improved.

No free parking but other apartments on the road were given free parking tickets. Stairs can be quite tiring especially to apartment 4 (top floor).
The bed sheets had multiple rips and stains on it, and what seemed to be a few pet hairs on the bedding.
When entering the apartment there is quite a noticeable hole in the wall as there is no door stop protecting the wall.
The bottom of the fridge door handle was broken on arrival.
There was a broken glass tumbler also. Some of the dishes and plates appeared to have left over food on them, too.
The toilet seat was only connected to one side so caused it to slip.
The towel holder in the bathroom was poorly fitted so kept rotating.
The sofa had lots of dry marks on it.
The televisions were exceptionally slow & took at least 10 seconds to work when operating it.
Overall, the apartment felt like it needed a deeper clean especially during COVID.

We stayed in the Wicket View Room.
The modern style of the apartment, great for a couple of nights stay but any longer and the stairs become a bit of a pain, the parking becomes a bit of a pain and the Settee isn't very comfortable as its also a bed.
Liked how close it was to the City Centre and to the Beach.
The 6 flights of stairs to get to the apartment, the windows weren't great either, full of Seagull mess and parking is a bit of a pain.
We were staying for 4 nights from Friday until the Tuesday and on the Saturday early evening the Wifi that had been working great disappeared and was no longer available on any device, it was as though it has been turned off. I contacted support who said they would look into this, I phoned back later on as I hadn't heard anything and support confirmed what I had suspected in that the Router for the apartment was in someone else room and it looked like they had unplugged it, so I explained this was important to us as my wife wasn't to well after her second Covid Jab so we were staying in and we weren't able to use any of the Smart TV features in the room or any of the devices we had brought with us and they confirmed they would try to get this resolved asap. Sunday evening, over 24 hours later I contacted again and was basically told by the same person the issue I raised wasn't classed as an emergency so would have to wait, not impressed at all as you can imagine. The next morning from around 10am the Wifi was working again, clearly been turned back on or plugged back in, so we had been without WiFi for over 30 hours which included most of the weekend which I just thought wasn't acceptable when it was pretty obviously it had been unplugged or turned off, the support contact was great until the Sunday when I chased it and was then basically told it was tough.
I was told I would be compensated for us not having Wifi, the offer was to give us 15% off our next stay which was 5% more than you get for being a returning guest, this had a big negative impact on our stay and I expected a bit more.

The shower room is fab but the shower itself is disappointing.... not powerful and hard to get the water to the right temperature.
The sofa in the lounge isn’t comfortable but it can be changed to a sofa bed which helps a bit.
We were asked by email to take our rubbish down to the bins outside when we were leaving but there weren’t any!
The owners hadn’t really got an idea about the best way to park. We were told the day of arrival that the council parking “scratch cards “ hadn’t arrived in time for our stay and we were told to park in a nearby council car park at £9 overnight.
We asked the neighbouring property owner and was told parking is free outside between 5pm and 9am and she very kindly gave us a bundle of parking discs which gave us 2 hours outside if we needed it. We have left them at the property for future use. The neighbour saved us £45 but the owners should have known this. Teething problems I’m sure as was the problem we had getting the key out of the key safe on arrival as the code given via booking. Com was wrong. We rang and the lady who answered gave us the correct code.
All in all the apartment is a lovely place to stay and is very eye catching. If attention is given to the points above it would be 10 out of 10.
