Lovely cottage which was spotlessly clean. Little extras like teabags (which I had forgotten!), milk and other condiments. Good location for Staithes and Saltburn on Sea.
Clean, comfortable, well equipped. Beautiful views, great location.
What a wonderful find, beautiful location and very nicely furnished with top of the range white goods.
Very impressed with the property - beautifully decorated in a great location! Owners were very friendly and accommodating. Easy parking provided outside the cottage.
Très joliment décoré, très confortable, très propre, très calme.
Contact sans problème avec l'agence de location.
Un peu plus d'ustensiles de cuisine serait appréciable.
Lovely place, comfortable beds and immaculate place. Very convenient with nearby cafe and access to trails of guisborough woods. Owners very friendly and helpful.
Would stay again.
Lovely little cottage in fantastic surroundings. Well equipped with everything you’ll need, check in was easy and the host was quick to answer any questions. Highly recommend
Lovely new build cottage with all modern fittings. Very comfortable with country walks from your door step.
Great location, excellent property.
Simply, everything. The cottage is lovely and is located in the most beautiful area. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly.
Everything was perfect. More cookware would be preferred but that's all.
My best friends and I stayed for 2 nights for a girly weekend, we enjoyed our stay, only things we would change was, the dishwasher was full on arrival, the bar stools we very wobbly and unsafe. The front door was quite hard to lock and unlock and the floor was very slippy when we got there. But apart from that we had a lovely stay, lovely scenery and town centre 2 miles away. Would definitely recommend going to Cookfellas wine bar and eatery too
Clean and well maintained, with excellent facilities
On arrival I was very disappointed with the state of the house. When we turned up it was not clean the dishwasher was full of dirty cutlery and there was a list of what should have been left in the property but half was missing including dishwasher tablets so before I could even have a drink after a 4 hour drive i had to go shopping to get dishwasher tablets. The outside of the property just outside the front door where the Alpacas were had a lot of building materials and machinery and this was a shame as I was unable to let my 1 and a half year old to run out there to see the animals. Apart from that my stay was nice the surroundings were beautiful and the local towns were lovely there was a lot to go and see and we enjoyed our time. It was a shame about what we found on arrival.
A lovely cosy little cottage (the photos make it look a lot bigger). Very nice and clean and good comms with the stay team. It rained a lot on our trip and trip and there isn’t really anywhere to hang up coats/put wet wellies
We really enjoyed our week in the bungalow, thank you. All mod cons and a great shower. Clean rooms and comfy beds. We loved the alpacas :)
Only improvements for us would have been a few more kitchen utensils/crockery (sieve, corkscrew etc) and the ability to turn the background bathroom fan off at night. But over all a lovely stay in this beautiful part of the world.
The accommodation was clean, spacious, modern, private and in a good location for the walks we wanted to do and getting out to the North York Moors. There was also a nice outdoor seating area and we loved seeing the lamas everyday. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Only a few pointers really: There could have been a little more crockery such as a complete set of 8, which would have allowed us to use the dishwasher. Written instructions for the oven combined with microwave would be good and also a washing up bowl in the large sink so that washing up water could be kept separate when needing to drain pans or tip away the dregs. A small serrated knife would also be helpful. However, these are all very small things and not a complaint - just might be useful to know so they can be added to help future visitors. When we requested a bottle opener it was brought in 5 minutes and the owner also popped round and helpfully explained the workings of the oven.
The cottage is a great size for a small family and is located on a farm with a lovely alpaca field adjacent to the cottage. However, I was very disappointed with the cleanliness of the cottage. The floor hadn’t been mopped as there were spillage stains all over it and although it smelt lovely (due to the various air fresheners around) the place did not feel clean. There were marks all over the appliances and the towels and bedding had no scent to them so I’m not sure if these were actually clean. Although a lovely cottage in a great location something does need to be done about the cleanliness.
What a lovely little cottage it was! Would 100% stop again! So peaceful! All the facilities you needed and shops just a short drive away! Lovely breakfast at the cabin which was a short 2 minute walk away! Honestly loved it!! The owner was lovely and just let us do our own thing! Very very peaceful and lovely place to stop would stop again and recommend to family and friends for sure!!
Most enjoyable weekend in beautiful surroundings with many walks on the doorstep.
Great location, beautiful home, high spec, very nice kitchen and bathroom, comfortable place and thankfully really clean. Smelled very pleasant too .
Next-door garden was lovely to look at, as were the alpacas at close quarters. Sheltered outdoor space for sitting or eating outdoors. Easy parking. Very impressed with this lovely property.
Possibly microwave would be handy although we ourselves did not need it during our stay. Slight lack of privacy for dressing etc if you forgot to close the blinds. Nothing really to dislike!
Really lovely place, clean and plenty of room for our 1 year old to run around. Our daughter loved seeing the llamas and horses in the fields nearby. Perfect location for the nearby walkway and playground is great for family’s. Very impressed with Stay, check in/out hassle free we would recommend to friends and family.
Great location, lovely property and good value for money, will be returning soon.
Comfort, excellent location.
The accommodation was excellent, just a point, it could have done with an ensuite to the double bedroom. One toilet/shower not adequate for 4 person occupancy.
Stunning cottage in a fantastic location! We’ll definitely be back.
All very good except mattress’s Too Hard
Great overall place, lovely location and really clean and modern facilities
Very clean on arrival
Exactly as photos
Furnishings and facilities good. Well thought out and well presented.
Owner very helpful and quickly dealt with a couple of minor issues
Log burner lovely on an evening and underfloor heating worked well.
Agree with previous reviews that a microwave in kitchen and a bigger bed in main bedroom would be useful.
Double bed was too hard for me so a mattress topper would have been useful too (appreciate that is a matter of preference however)
Main issue was trying to find the cottage. Instructions were given but are vague. The property isn’t opposite the Guisborough Walkway, it is next to it. There also isn’t a sign for Lowcross Farm or cottage which would help to know you are in the right place, and/or a photo of the entrance. I know the area well and still got lost.
It may be a minor thing but would reduce stress levels at the beginning of the stay.
Exactly as advertised, quality kitchen & room furniture
Needs a microwave in the kitchen
Lovely relaxing two night stay in this beautiful cottage
The property was spotless, modern with extra touches like a coffee machine, milk in the fridge. It was beautiful inside and very peaceful. Outdoor space, plenty of parking and next to a field with Alpaccas . The owners helped us with a small problem on arrival and we all enjoyed our stay.
Very comfortable accommodation
All the facilities were excellent. Was not expecting milk, tea, coffee and sugar to be supplied. Enjoyed playing scrabble sat on the very comfortable settees. Impressed with the quality of the shower.
No mirror in the bedroom with twin beds, but able to move one from the double room (which had two). A chair in each bedroom would have been nice.
Check-in was simple.
Property was very clean and absolutely gorgeous.
Situated next to beautiful woodland which was great for walking our dogs.
Would recommend the Kings Head Inn for really good pub grub, great atmosphere and dog friendly.
Overall a really enjoyable stay in a beautiful home!
Really clean, good location and definitely recommend
Perfect accommodation that makes you feel like your right at home. If you don’t leave here wishing you could stop then I’d be extremely surprised. Fantastic location, especially as it’s right next to a fabulous forest walk and is also not too far from the sea of you don’t mind a short drive.
Lovely cottage just a minute away for some stunning walks and countryside. What a find, we will definitely be returning
A Holiday Lettings verified reviewer
Absolutely beautiful cottage, laid out well and well equipped with washer, drier, dishwasher etc. Living room very cosy and comfortable. Main bedroom bed is rather uncomfortable and for sure too small for the room as mentioned in other reviews. But overall no complaints about the cottage itself, it was very modern and yet cosy. Very dog friendly, all on one level and hard floors throughout. Little yard out the back you can wash the dogs off in, but remember to bring your own bucket/watering can as there is no outside tap. The location is great for walking in Guisborough Forest and the outlook is beautiful. You aren’t really close enough to any pubs to walk to quickly but 4 mins down the road in a car is a lovely pub at Roseberry Topping, really dog friendly and good food and drink there. Great Ayton well worth a visit as well. The only downside to this property for us was the early morning noise and the fact the outside was basically a building site. We spend our working weeks getting up before 5am so when we go away we want to be able to relax and sleep-in in the mornings. Unfortunately this yard was up and working and making quite a bit of noise by 6:15am every day. Not sure if this is just because they were doing landscaping work to their garden or not. However it did ruin our lazy morning feel and not really what we expected for the price we paid for the cottage. They have some lovely alpacas and a couple of donkeys (one of which does love to call out at 5am as well! However once settled in probably won’t be an issue). That being said, hopefully the work will be over soon and whoever else gets to stay here will have a more peaceful stay!
Excellent location for local walks and dog friendly pubs. 35 min drive to the coast. Excellent facilities private with ample room for parking. Hassle free check in and check out. Super pet friendly
Very modern property, very homely feel to it. Hosts very happy to attend to anything if any problems. Coffee machine and games in the living room were great touches.
Comfier pillows, although they are duck feathers they weren’t comfortable (that’s if I’m being very picky) obviously these are fine for some people.
Only 3 bar stools but on day 2 a fourth turned up at the door! ?
Excellent appliances and well lauded out , situated in a working farmyard
This property is in an amazing location, very close to woodland walks.
Brilliant cottage. Nice and clean, really comfortable beds.
the double bed is just a bit too small for such a big room. it’s all so nicely done but this is a bit of a mistake for comfort
Super pristine cottage in a great location.
Please note the cottage doesn't have a dining room. There is a breakfast bar in the kitchen for dining.
Lowcross Cottage doesn't have a bathtub, it has a large walk in shower.
The closest town to Lowcross Cottage is Guisborough where you'll find shops, restaurants and bars. Guisborough is a short 5-minute drive away.
