From the guestbook
Clean house that was exactly like the pictures.
Comfortable and well presented.
Had everything you could need!
A problem with the boiler was fixed within 10 minutes of calling the company. Maintenance arrived 5 minutes after I hung up!
Everything was fine.
Perhaps some coasters would be a good idea, we didn’t want to mark the tables so we’re using kitchen roll! If there were coasters we just didn’t find them.
clean, cosy, perfect location
the mattress was quite uncomfortable
Great little cottage. Perfect for the beach. We had a lovely time as a family of four.
Clean, well refurbed cottage
Well equipped, all modern appliances
Great location, less than 10 mins to beach or town centre
Handy Spar supermarket next door, and chippy just over road. Big sainsbury in centre.
Parking outside back door, to unload, and then over road in macknay street otherwise.
Bit of road noise in the morning
Perfect apart from the stairs
Key safe easy to use lovely.house modern decor and fittings
Super clean and cosy cottage, nicely decorated and beds were very comfy! very handy for the beach and restaurants, and saltburn is beautiful!
the kitchen was nicely appointed with plenty of cooking utensils and the beds were comfortable
the bedroom blinds need to be replaced with curtains as they do not stop any morning daylight also the smaller bedroom bed has a protruding base that causes havoc with your shins
It was clean
Everything else. Really lovely place to stay.
The sofas were not very comfy
Lovely little house, nice decor and close to the sea!
Great location, parking is plentiful and the house is presented to a lovely standard. If I was being fussy, I’d have liked a coffee machine but that’s if I’m bein fussy
The location was good and easily able to access the town centre, beach and Cleveland way, also easy to walk to bus and train station.
The property was light and airy with a very comfortable bed ( possibly the most comfortable that we have had away from home)
On the first morning there was no hot water but after a telephone call it was sorted the same day and no further occurrence after that.
The lack of outdoor space (we were aware when we booked it but didn’t realise how it would impact us), first impressions looked great and comfortable, the breakfast bar stools are uncomfortable for a prolonged evening meal.Sofas were small hard and uncomfortable, the tv was extremely complicated to work an needed batteries to be removed from one remote to the other to get it to work. Whist we had no mobility issues the stairs are very steep with a narrow stair tread and a bath that was ok if you are 6ft tall as very high sided to get in and out. Anyone with mobility issues may struggle, the bathroom also had no towel rail to hang damp towels and also no shaver socket for electric razors or toothbrushes.
A home from home experience
Good location and easy walk into town centre.
This is a great property that is located close to the shops and a short walk from the beach - perfect. The best were very comfortable which meant we all slept well.
The only improvement would be the cleanliness. When we arrived, I had to clean the fridge as there was dried milk, dirt and stains; the cupboards also needed wiping before we put our food away too. In the current circumstances, we expected a higher level of hygiene and we were therefore slightly disappointed.
The back yard could have been cleaned and the outside toilet was dirty.
nothing can be done with the stairs but they were very steep. also short steps.
bath mat would be good not easy yo get into the bath. As i'm 64
the front grass needed cutting and I had to pick up the litter in the garden as it was
embarrassing when you sat out the front.
Clean, recently done up. Good fixtures and fittings.
Short walk to town and seafront.
Not a lot
Location - very close to all amenities and 10min walk to the beach.
Very clean and comfortable
Very bright in the bedrooms. Could have done with curtains as well as blinds.
Lovely house, great location and really clean and modern. We stayed with a toddler and as others have pointed out the staircase is incredibly steep so something to bear in mind. It’s also on a very busy road but the door locks behind you on a latch so is safe. Kitchen is well equipped and bed was really comfy. Only criticism if forced is that the sofas are definitely not what you’d describe as comfy!
Code sent before arrival and easy to obtain once on site
Very comfortable cottage, clean and cosy
A brilliant holiday home is a great location. Windsor cottage is well appointed and tastefully decorated; a very relaxing place to stay.
great position and very clean .
stairs are steeper than expected
unsure about shower ,not used as no bath mat and looked too risky .
Blinds let day light and street light in ...great communication
Nice, modern decor. Great location next to a big Spar shop and opposite a chippy. 10 mins walk to beach. Road is busy but quietens down at night. Milk in fridge was appreciated. Would go back for another stay. Steep stairs to the first floor so maybe not good for young children/ old people.
Unfortunately I was charged twice for the property, once by Booking.com and also by the owner/leasing company.
Booking.com have agreed to refund the overcharge after providing proof but I was told the refund could take 10 days!
A bit confusing as they can take my payment immediately but it could take 10 days for them to return the overcharge!
Great location super convenient spa shop next door, excellent fish and chip shop over the road and short walk to shops, cafe and beach - dog friendly cottage, decor and fittings fresh and stylish. Really enjoyed our break after restrictions eased
Very clean. Lovely house. Great location.
Very tight on toiletries. No garden chairs. Road was quite busy.
Windsor Cottage was decorated beautifully. Very modern feel yet cozy. I actually looked at a lot of labels to try and purchase for my own home!
I requested a Christmas tree as we were booked over the festive period, and the hosts immediately confirmed this was doable. I was very pleased and grateful for this, as it was a lovely touch and made Christmas Day feel like it was Christmas Day!
The location was fab. Next door to a Spar supermarket and 3 min walk to Saltburn high street. Would thoroughly recommend this property for a stay in the North East.
It was perfect!
Great location, very comfortable beds.
Cleaning needs to be improved, especially the cobwebs around the light shades and the greasy oven.

The whole process from booking property to staying was a pleasant experience... Property was spotlessly clean home away from home...
Everything - great place to stay and ideally situated. It's on a main road but traffic wasnt a problem. Little Spar shop next door which is very handy. Great size house and very comfertable. 10mins walk to bars and resteraunts. Loved it - we will be back :)
Nothing met all expectations
The decor and general feel of the property
The stairs was very steep
lovely house and only a short walk away from the beach and shops. The property had all the necessary facilities and some extras I didn't expect, we took a lot of our own cleaning equipment, etc but these were already provided. The property is on a main road so traffic noise was a bit of an issue at night. Also, the stairs are quite steep so had to be really careful when carrying our little one down them.
Location very good place was comfortable clean and tidy with all the in house facilities that you need for a stay.
Lovely and clean
Lots of repairs need doing screws out of main lock on door gaps in living room window and bedroom very noisy at night as on main road not suitable for anyone wanting to sit in garden no outdoor furniture you couldnt let dog out too near main road no good for anyone not good on legs as the stairs are steep terraced house type and bath is a slipper bath so no chance of gettin in or out of that if elderly! Car park space very limited have to park where you can get
Fantastic cottage at a great price
Lovely clean house.
There was only one thing on a night in the bedrooms the traffic from the main road was very loud.
Walking distance to the town/beach
Traffic noice & kitchen essentials very sparse
We had a lovely stay here for one night. Fantastic location.
Beautiful home, had everything we needed and more.
The property was lovely and I believe it is rarely available at peak times so we were pleased to be able to secure it for a week during the Summer holidays. It has everything you’ll need. Nicely decorated with a lovely kitchen and bathroom. TV and Wifi are available. The property is on the main road into Saltburn (Windsor Road) which can be quite busy. It’s next to a Spar which was convenient and parking was easy (and free!!). Easy to walk into Town (5 mins max) and the beach. We’ve stayed in Saltburn previously as we enjoy the laid back style of the Town. It does have a feeling of Brigadoon about it (one pub called last orders at 21:30 on a Wedensday night using a bell - i’ve not heard a last orders bell for 30 years!! Loved it). Plenty of other pubs and/or restaurants to visit. The only down side to Saltburn was there was a lot of dodgy do on the footpaths. I’ve not seen this here before. Overall, loved Saltburn and this property and will definitely stay here again.
This is in a great location, 10 minutes walk to the beach, shop rite next door to the property, a chippy across the road which as good. You are 10 minutes away from everything really. Great space, rooms were lovely and spacious. Was stylish and had hotel touches. Loved it!
Close to beach front very clean an tidy. All what we expected.
Really clean and well presented in a central location
Some noise from the road at night but can’t be helped
Great little house, immaculately decorated, very comfortable. Could do with a few more kitchen bits, such as chopping boards, oven proof dishes, homely stuff. Lots of toilet roll and dish washer tablets.
No internet and very cold.
Immaculately clean throughout,
Lovely & clean. Loved the decor & lovely kitchen
Needs curtains in bedroom. No sleep due to light from church shining through blinds. Made it very bright
The location of the property was excellent..a Spar shop right next door, chip shop directly over the road meant we hardly had to move on our first night there...the property was modern, clean and very well equipped, both beds and linen were very comfortable, The kitchen was stunning we even used the dishwasher so no chores to do on a weekend of relaxation..The TV even came with Netflix so if the weather was poor there would have been plenty to occupy us..but thankfully he weather was fine..all in all can’t wait to stay here again.
It is a gorgeous property and very comfortable.
Was a bit cold because of the weather and took a whole to get the place heated up.
Fantastic property and location. We all had a great time. Lovely comfy beds too.
Only thing I would say is to put a lock on the bathroom door. Apart from that it was perfect.
Comfortable lounge, warm & cosy. The bed was comfy. Breakfast bar is a good idea for dining.
Easy access to property. Being next to a small supermarket very handy.
The shower was difficult to turn on/off.
Access into & out off the high bath to shower very awkward & risky for older folk.
The tablet kept reminding us when we should check out! Perhaps it should default to local info!
Beds, Location, linen, modern, clean, facilities, communications, info book.
Lovely modern sash windows on the front of the house unfortunately were very drafty & noisy being on the main road.
Double glazeing on the inside for winter stays would be ideal.
Widen steps on stairs. Very small & a challenge to fit feet on them. 2nd handrail may help.
We enjoyed everything about Windsor house. The kitchen was amazing good quality appliances. Rooms were very well decorated and extremely cosy feel. We would definitely stay again . I would highly recommend .
The cottage was clean and modern. Near to everything.
Church bells at 8am. The road is very noisy early morning and well lit. The blinds in the bedrooms are not enough to block out the lights. I like my bedroom dark, however that’s a personal preference.
Beautiful decor, modern, clean and great location
Close to town centre.
Noisy at night
Very clean , and comfortable beds
It was just great - lovely interior, rooms large & airy. Close to everything. On main road but quiet inside.
Beautiful cottage which was tastefully decorated , clean throughout , spacious and in a great location . Easy to find , in a nice quite area in the centre of Saltburn . We would love to stay here again!
Twin beds instead of 2 doubles as an option would be great as we were travelling with 2 children and they would love a bed each .
No curtains just blinds so in the height of summer at night the rooms let a lot of light in as there were street lamps outside . But both of those issues are to are personal preference
Very modern well presented cottage everything you need for a self catering stay. Make sure you take yr bubble bath for the luxery bath. There is a co-op right next door. The cottage is on the main road with a alley way to the right of it which i parked my car in. I used the side gate which takes you straight into the cottage when unloading car perfect. Cant wait to go back saltburn is lovely.
Beautifully furnished, comfortable property well equipped and great attention to the details
The property was small but comfortable and decorated to a high standard. Nice bathroom and comfortable beds. Well stocked Spar supermarket next door was very convenient. Stairs are steep and small treads which need care and no lock on the bathroom door.
Very clean and felt like new . Nice touches with use of a tablet, washing machine .
Beds very comfortable. Kitchen very nice and stocked with basics. Very clean. Good location for beach and shops. Nice to have a bit of garden to sit in.
Needed a teapot and a couple more pans. Nowhere to hang wet towels in bathroom.
Lovely modern cottage
The cottage was immaculate and very clean. Tea, coffee and sugar were there for our use which was a nice touch. Good location. Maybe a lock on the toilet door would have been nice and perhaps bedroom windows unlockable for fire safety and cool air at night.
Steep stairs for my dad to manage but he is 92 so that's probably not a problem for most people!
Immaculate condition. Clean modern interior. Good location in Saltburn. Easy parking
Very well presented cottage with home from home comforts. Ideal location with free parking.
Extremely comfy beds & an amazing shower!
Really clean good facilities
Amazingly easy check-in, great clean space, modern decor, clean and decent price too! The beach 10 minutes from the house is fantastic- and there are some decent shops in the town. The host was very quick to respond.
Lovely little cottage! Very cosy, so nice to head back to and relax after a day out walking at the beach. Very helpful and fast response to any queries! ??
Walking into the house the attention to detail was obvious, cosy and inviting, new magazines on the coffee table, milk in the fridge, with tea and coffee. Beds so comfy and made up beautifully. A decent shower and bath also with towels. Perfect for 4.
I did buy a cafetiere as I prefer fresh coffee and left it as a thank you!
There was nothing I did not like about the house as I would stay again, but..The installation could be better on the windows as it is actually on a busy road, and there was a smell, I think it may have been freshly decorated so maybe a paint smell but it was quite heavy.
Beautifully renovated house, within a few minutes walk of the sea. The decor is very modern and the furnishings are luxurious and comfortable. The house is very well equipped with Virgin TV and WiFi. The hosts were fantastic - within minutes of me emailing asking for a baby gate for the stairs (which are rather steep, like many Victorian houses) one of the owners appeared at the front door baby gate in hand. Amazing service at 9pm on a Sunday before Christmas!
Windsor Cottage is located on a main road in Saltburn-by-the-Sea so whilst ideally placed for exploring, may not be suitable if you'd prefer to be in a quiet close or cul-de-sac.
The property doesn't have a ground floor WC.
Due to the nature of the property, the stairs are quite steep so please take care when using the staircase.
Due to the location of the cottage, it doesn't have on site parking but on street parking is available and is free during all times of the day.
