Dominating the skyline over the River Nidd is the epic Knaresborough Viaduct. Originally opened in 1851 and standing at 78ft high, the viaduct plays an important role within Knaresborough’s history. The viaduct carries the Harrogate line over the river so if you’re travelling to Knaresborough by train, you’ll get the most incredible views!

There is a lovely holiday atmosphere in Knaresborough. Cobbled paths and winding stone staircases lead down the riverside. Perfect for the whole family, you can play mini-golf, hire a boat or enjoy an ice cream as you take a leisurely stroll by the water. Situated next to the Petrifying Well, you’ll find out all about the story of Mother Shipton and the waters which turn objects to stone.
